GAME ONE:  JEFFERSON 3  JORDAN 1

After a much awaited time the mighty Democrats went to their first match not only with high expectations but also confident that they would bring their first victory home. They had prepared as best they could for this occasio and they saw the results as they defeated Jordan High School with a 3-1 score which could very easily have been 5-1

SECOND GAME: JEFFERSON 1 LOCKE 5

Thinking perhaps that because they had won their first game they would win their second one without much fight from the opposition, the Democrats had a big surprise when after being up 1-0 Locke tied the game before half time and then came back to score four more times to during the second half.

THIRD GAME: JEFFERSON 3 GARFIELD 1

Knowing they had a tough opponent, the mighty Democrats prepared mentally and physically for their third match. After and intense game they had accomplished they second victory.

FOURTH GAME: JEFFERSON  3 ROOSEVELT 1

With some of the players still  remembering the crushing and embarrassing defeat Roosevelt gave they  last year (6-0) they could hardly wait to get on the field a demonstrate  they had not forgotten.  After the first half, Roosevelt was up 1-0. The second half was fiercely fought  with the mighty Democrats tying tanned eventually winning the game with three  goals by Memo and, two of which he executed with his head.

FIFTH GAME: JEFFERSON  5  SOUTH GATE  0

The mighty Democrats went to their fifth game thinking  on just bringing another victory home. After missing 8 clear shots on goal they went home with a 5-0 victory and already preparing mentally  for their next and always tough opponent, Bell H.S.

GAME SEVEN: JEFFERSON 2  BELL H. S. 1

Aware that Bell High School has always been a tough opponent, the mighty Democrats went on the road one more time  with high hopes of another victory.  Within the first 30 seconds of the game the Democrats had their first opportunity to score when Memo R. faced the keeper one on one but missed. After the first half was over and after missing at least three more clear opportunities to score by Manuel G., Memo R. and Jose R., Jefferson was up 1-0 with a nicely executed goal  by Hugo O., midfielder who faced the keeper one on one and did what the forwards could not do. During the second half Bell came back and tied the game via a penalty kick. This complicated  things more for the Democrats who started to regret all the opportunities they had missed earlier in the game.

GAME 8 JEFFERSON 3 FREMONT 2

After an intense first half and not necessarily well played by the green and yellow machine, the mighty democrats were able to subdue a Fremont High School that is always a real challenge. Goals were scored by Jose R., Michael R. and by a new rising star, Ivan J.

GAME 9 JEFFERSON 8 JORDAN 1

The mighty democrats received Jordan the second time around thinking victory. When the first half was over and not playing well, the democrats were up 1-0. After talking things out during the break, the green and yellow machine started playing their game and scored seven more times against a disappointing Jordan team. Goals were scored by Manuel G. (2), Memo R. (4), Ivan, and Michael.

Final season result:

Jefferson H.S. won the conference with 24 points and 42 goals. City wide Jeferson H. S. ranked number 5.

First play off game was at home against Elizabeth Learning Center Jefferson 6 E.L. C. 1

Second Play off Game at home against James Monroe H.S. This was an exciting game where the green and yellow machine dominated the entire game practically but missed two clear opportunities the first one during the first half (catracho) and the second one during the second half (by Carioto). At the end of the first half the score was 0-0 about ten minutes into the second half, and with a very intelligent play by memo, Jefferson scored (with a beautiful goal by carioto who left the keeper on the ground!) Twenty minutes into the second half the game was tied due to a simple goalkeeper mistake. Five minutes later, and due to another (little gift) by one of our defenders who put the ball back into the penalty area and on one opponent's feet, the game was 2-1. This was the end of the season for the Demos who had a team to do battle until the last game as it had been planned. However, he who forgives many goals loses it at the end. After the game, there was a very emotional interaction among all players most of whom could not believe they had lost at home, and most of all, kept from going on.
