IEP Online (Welligent) Suggestions from the Jefferson Staff
- Use only Internet Explorer (IE) as your IEP web browser. Other browsers such as Mozilla and Netscape are not fully compliant with Welligent.
- To log in from home on a non-LAUSD network (ISP) use the address
"welligent.lausd.net." Add this to your Favorites in IE at home. If you
are at school or using LAUSDnet to access the Internet from home, then
use the address "iep.lausd.net."
- Create a new student record: Log in. Select IEP Manager. Select
Student Search. Type in the student's last name. Click on the name from
the search list. Select NEW for new record. Select the correct labels
for Review, Annual, etc.
- Add Participants: Always add yourself as teacher manager to
annual and three year reviews. You must also add all the other team
members such
as the psychologist, nurse, etc. if they are to input reports.
Counselors who attend the IEP meeting but who don't input reports into
Welligent need NOT be listed as participants.
- Use the green (or yellow) left and right arrows to navigate
through the
different forms and sections.
- Look up sections by section name rather then page number. For
example, if you are working from an old hard copy and need to enter
data from Section B or C, don't look for the page numbers in Welligent,
but rather the list of included sections. The green plus sign gives you
more pages in that section if needed. Page numbers are provided,
however. The forms themselves are almost identical, unless some updates
have occurred.
- Make sure you select SAVE after entering any sizable data in a
section. Select SAVE/CLOSE to save and close the section and move to a
new section from the list.
- You can copy and paste text from an old IEP Writer Supreme
document into Welligent. You can not copy entire pages, but you can
copy text blocks such as goals and assessments. Open both documents on
your screen and use Ctrl+C to copy and Ctrl+V to paste into text fields
in Welligent. Most programs that use text use Ctrl+C to copy and Ctrl+V
to paste, even if it is not listed in a pull down menu.
- Use the messaging feature to contact other staff members if you
need a goal, an assessment, form, document, etc. The participants are
automatically notified when you create a new student record.
- Welligent also has a built in TO DO list and meeting scheduler.
All participants can be notified when you schedule a meeting.
- You should log in at least twice per week to check for messages
from other staff members. As other staff members create records and
schedule meetings, Welligent will send out important reminders and
updates of coming events.
- You can access your IEPs online at home via your LAUSDnet
account. Dial up the nearest LAUSDnet phone location. Use your email
username and password to log on the Internet. Launch Internet Explorer
and type in "iep.lausd.net" in the location window. Add the URL to your
list of Favorites so that you can just to this site next time you log
on.
- Printing: Go to Page Setup and remove any setting for Headers and
Footers. Replace the margin settings to 0.25 on all margins. Highlight
and type right over the existing settings.
