Welcome to the Thomas Jefferson High School Newspaper, the Demo Press. The paper is circulated, free of charge, monthly, to give students information about current events on campus as well as stories making headlines. The Demo Press is a class of hard working students(when you push 'em). However, this fall semester has been a great disappointment. As a result of counseling office mistake and lack of interest, the Demo Press will only issued two, four-page, issues. Our staff consists of seven students, of which most have limited English proficiency. I was very proud of becoming the senior-editor for the Demo Press. Yet, I was unprepared for the many tasks I embarked on, in order to even have a school newspaper. Almost overnight, I became the layout-editor, an editorialist, a sports page writer, and creater of this website. It is the Journalism class' goal to live up to Journalistic standards of accuracy and respectful reporting. Well, I don't know about Journalistic standards, but at least we didn't misspell anyone's name. We welcome any suggestions you might have and if you're school is part of the LAUSD, e-mail us to request a copy of the Demo Press(while supplies last).

This site is a work in progress. I have to add many images that go with the story, because what's a story without a picture? Also, Jefferson High School runs on a year-round schedule so this issue that you see is the December of 1998 issue. A-Track, which has the Journalism elective, won't be back till March 4, 1999. So the next new issue would be sometime in April. Enjoy your visit and also check out some other high school On-Line newspapers.
