AB2882 REPAIRS

Equipment is under warranty for a period of 1 year for the printers (3 years for the print servers), 5 years for the desktops, and 3 years for the laptops. In all cases, this period starts from the date of installation (as reflected on the asset management file you were provided). For the printers that are beyond the year and are not having problems with the print server (the box with the lights that should dance left to right to left), a call should be made to LAUSD's customer support line (866) 633-8110 for assistance with repair.

Arey Jones handles service calls only for the IBM PCs (800-998-9199).
Apple's number for the AB2882, MAGIC, CTI, and TLCG3 packages is (866) 992-7753.
LexMark's number is (800) 453-9787 (LAUSD's customer number is 54201681). Hope this helps, Joe Oliver.

What is the Instructional Technology Commission?

by Mike Goldberg

The ITC is an independent group of people interested in the direction of Instructional Technology in L.A.U.S.D. The commission draws its membership from school site and District administrators, teachers, coordinators, classified staff, and from industry and community.  The group acts as an open technology forum, information exchange and source of ideas to help
facilitate positive change in Instructional technology within the District. Current topics under discussion include but are not limited to; Proposition BB, E-rate, current and proposed Instructional Technology positions within the District, the District Technology Plan, the District Instructional Technology Plan, technology and networking equipment and software standards
and other instructional issues. The Meetings are held on the third Wednesday of most months, about 4:15 P.M. at schools and offices around the District and usually include a light meal either provided by the venue or chip-in-potluck. Meeting format is short presentations generating open discussion. Discussions run from the mundane to the pyrotechnic.

Meeting information, agenda and past minutes can be found on this web site.  Membership in the Commission is open to anyone interested. Also at the web site are instructions for joining the ITC Listserv where one can find ongoing dialogues on topics of interest to ITC members.
