Gridley Street School provides a safe and nurturing place of learning where the "Child Comes First". The attractive, well-kept campus with its view of the surrounding mountains provides a beautiful setting.

Programs focus on the individual needs of each student. High expectations and positive self-esteem are emphasized. For this to occur, our staff is committed to an instructional program which cares for and develops our students academically, emotionally, and physically.

Important components of our program are:

  • Focus on language development and cultural awareness for all students under the Eastman Program Design - full English and Spanish bilingual programs and Proposition 227
  • Utilization of "hands-on" materials in mathematics and science
  • Integrated curriculum, writing throughout the content areas
  • Ongoing schoolwide communication, parent involvement/volunteer opportunities
  • A supervised after-school playground program until 6:00 p.m.
  • A discipline program designed to foster positive behavior, responsible citizens, and mutual respect for each other.
 

La Escuela Calle Gridley provee un lugar sano de ensenanza sano para el aprendizaje en donde "El Niño está Primero". El bien cuedado campo y la panoramica de las montañas alrededor, provee una localidad hermosa.

Los programas se enfocan en las necesidades de cada alúmno. Se enfatizan resultados superiores y amor-propio positivo durante los estudios. Para que esto ocurra, nuestro personal está dedicado a un programa instructivo el cual provee un buen desarrollo académico, emocional y físico a nuestros alumnos.

Los componéntes de nuestro programa son:

  • Enfoque en el désarollo del idioma y conocimiento cultural para todos los alumnos bajo el Programa Diseño Eastman - programas bilingues en Ingles y Español y Proposición 227
  • Uso de materiales manipulativos de matemáticas y ciencias
  • Estudios integrados, enfatizando escritura a traves del area del contenido
  • Comunicación escolar continua entre el personal, envolvimiento de los padres/oportunidades para voluntarios
  • Un programa del patio de recreo después de clases supervisado hasta las 6:00 p.m.
  • Un programa de disciplina diseñado para promover un comportamiento positivo, ciudadanos responsables y respeto mutuo.

35 of our 50 teachers are bilingual in English and Spanish. School staff members are also bilingual in Filipino, Cambodian, Armenian and Hindi.
