Junior Librarians

Eshelman has a Junior Librarian program open to Fourth and Fifth grade students. Junior Librarians learn the basics of shelving books and assist in arranging displays, keeping the library dusted (a never ending task!), and have the opportunity to become familiar with the selection of books available to patrons of our library (Junior Librarians are the only students who may place books on hold for later borrowing). In order to be considered for the program, a student must be in good academic standing, demonstrate good citizenship skills, and must be recommended by his/her teacher. Junior Librarians are required to devote a minimum of two recesses per week to their duties, and most of them give up much more time than this. Currently, there are more than a dozen devoted participants in this program. I would not be able to keep the library in such good order without their help. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.
