Welcome to Drew Middle SchoolAn Integrating Mathematics and Science through Technology Project(IMaST IV) SiteThis year, 6th, 7th and 8th grade science and mathematics classrooms at Drew MS are participating in an exciting Los Angeles Unified School District EETT Round 7 Computer Grant that includes wireless laptop computers, electronic presentation boards and tools, and Internet-based resources to promote student achievement in science, mathematics and algebra.
These classrooms technologies have been placed at Drew MS as part of the District's Integrating Mathematics and Science through Technology (IMaST IV) project - an EETT competitive grant supported by the Federal No Child Left Behind (NCLB) Act. The purpose of the project is to promote technology literacy, integrate the use of technology into our science and mathematics classrooms and improve student achievement.
Mathematics and science classrooms from two middle schools across LAUSD were selected for the grant. Each of the schools has been assigned a lead coach to work with the teachers at each school. To help students succeed in their schoolwork, 6th, 7th and 8th grade students at Drew MS will have access to many exciting Internet-based resources to reinforce learning in the classroom and at home. In addition, every teacher and student at Drew MS will be issued and E-mail account for communication with each other and with experts in the field. With the introduction of this equipment into their classrooms, teachers will be exploring and implementing new ways to make school more exciting and meaningful for Drew students. We hope you will join us in our enthusiasm for this project and support our efforts to increase your child's success in school.
