Candidates for the positions below must be high school graduates and have varying levels of experience with computer troubleshooting and networking experience.
- Microcomputer
Support Assistant 2210 Step 1 $2,821
School Based - Testing required and top three ranked are hired (this
statement on the "top three" is being reviewed as of Dec.,
2005)
Pay Rate: $16.65-$20.75 p/hr.
Written Test and oral interview.
6 months experience.
If you are seeking an MSA for the first time, contact the "Employee
Transaction Services Branch", 213.241.7800.
To get a employee list, the position funding would need to be in
place and be seen in Budget Reporting Analysis and Support System
(BRASS). Then make contact with Classified Employment Transaction
Services Branch.
You would interview the remaining top three candidates on an approved
list.It is an A Basis 160 hour position.
Multiple schools can hire one MSA. But, pay must come from one timekeeper
and one funding source.
If a school wants to hire a MSA part-time, candidates have already
indicated if they will take a part-time position.
SSA contacts Classified Employment Transaction Services Branch to
write a request for an MSA.
- Information Systems Support Assistant 1083 Step 1 $2201 School
and Office - Testing required and hire anywhere on the list at a
school.
Step 2 4825 $2438 (studied)
Applicants for the above positions must pass a District qualifying
exam. For more information regarding these positions, contact the
Personnel Commission - Selection at 213-353-4211.
- Program Associate F $19.52 per/hr (for Digital High School
only - Full Time only) Testing required and top three ranked are
hired.
- Computer Technologist I 3541 Step 1 $3228 ITD - Testing required
and top three ranked are hired.
- Computer Technologist II 3545 - Step 1 $3520 ITD - Testing required
and top three ranked are hired.
For College Students:
- Information Technology Intern, Computer Support 3872 $15.00 per hr. School based. No test. Working hours are limited. Must be carrying specified class load in accredited institution.
For High school Students:
- Information Technology Intern, for High School Students 3870 $6.89
per hour School based No test. Working hours are limited.
Non-School based Positions are below. They can be promotional
positions.
-WEB ARCHITECT (Class Code 1180) ($79970 - $99,062 annually) Non-School
based Position
-WEB DEVELOPER (Class Code 1181) ($70,900 - $88,257 annually) Non-School
based Position
-DATABASE SPECIALIST (Class Code 1073) The current annual salary
is $82,410 with a maximum of $91,7168. Non-School based Position
-IT SOLUTION TECHNICIAN (Class Code 3863) The current beginning
annual salary is approximately $48,990 with a maximum of $61,022.
Non-School based Position
-INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY PROJECTS MANAGER (Class Code 1193) The
current beginning annual salary for this position is $70,065 with
a maximum of $87,187. Non-School based Position
Candidates for these positions must be high school graduates and have varying levels of experience with computer troubleshooting and various degrees of networking experience.
