School Nurse Position Opened

One Credentialed School Nurse position is open for the "Washington Involving Neighborhood" (WIN) Local District 8 "Safe School Healthy Student" attendance area with Nurse-Family Partnership (NFP home visitaton services. The Nurse Family Partnership (NFP) program is a national nonprofit organization committed to producing enduring improvement in the health and well-being of low income, first-time parents and their children.

Other Community Resources
Immunizations
800.427.8700 Provides free or low cost immunizations to prevent diseases such as whooping cough. measles, chicken pox, and menengitis (ages 0-21)
 
California Children Services
800.288.4584 Provides specialized medical care for children with an eligible condition (ages 0-21)
 
Regional Center
Provides services for those with developmental disabilties (all ages). In the Early Start Program, provides services for 0-3 year olds with or at risk for developmental disabilities.
 
Special Education
Provides services through local public schools for students with special needs. (ages 3-21)
 
Head Start
Provides educational, health and social servicies to low income children including children with special needs (ages 3-5).

Provides nutrition education and coupons for free food to low income women (pregnant or nursing), infants, and children with special health care needs (ages 0-5).
 
Supplemental Secuirity Income (SSI)

Family Resource Centers
(FRCs)
Provide free information and parent to parent support for those caring for a child with special health care needs (0-3). Some Centers provide information for all ages.
 
Mental Health

Child Health and Disabiltiy Provention (CHDP) Program
