Our Farm

Colfax Avenue School is very lucky to have a mini farm! Founded in 1992 with a few chickens and a couple of sheep, the Colfax Farm quickly became a favorite of students and teachers alike. Over the years we have also had pigs, roosters and a ducks. The farm is another opportunity, for children to excel at Colfax. Some children thrive in math, or English, while others flourish in the arts. Then there are the students who find their calling working with animals. They may grow up to become veterinarians, zoo keepers, trainers, or a host of other related professions.

The Colfax Farm is maintained by parent volunteers and it is supported by our recycling program fundraiser. We hope the farm shows our students one more path on their way to becoming productive adults.
