Gifted and Talented Education School for Advanced Studies Philosophical Overview: L.A.U.S.D. Instructional programs for gifted and talented students are based on the principles that all students are to receive an education appropriate to their individual capabilities, interests, and needs, and that students have learning opportunities that help develop their abilities to the highest level. "LAUSD is one of the few school districts that received a five-year approval of program from the California Department of Education. The five-year approval is subject to a verification of program quality. My thanks to all of you who have prevailed in difficult times to implement AB 2313."
