Literacy and Math Coaches

Broad Avenue now has two Literacy Coaches! Former Broad Avenue teacher Ana Leiker is now working with former classroom teacher J. Macaraeg full-time. Together they provide teachers with professional development in the planning and use of Open Court, the school's reading and Language Arts program.

Welcome to our new Math Coach, Michelle Magallon-Hamlin. She assists teachers in the planning and implementation of math lessons that are standards-based and helps students construct their own understanding of math concepts. Michelle also provides teachers with manipulatives and materials they need to help students learn.

Charity Weber, our fabulous Math Coach for the past several years is now the Elementary Math Advisor at local District 8. She loves her new job, but misses all of us. We miss her too! but wish her the best of everything.
