Pathway

Education is the means through which people learn to better themselves, to understand their world and the others with which they share it. Education assists people in becoming their greatest selves. A love of learning widens the possibilities of the mind, opens the heart to hope and understanding, enhances the capabilities of the body, and deepens the capacity of the soul.

All people must learn to have empathy and patience when interacting with others. We should learn to solve problems collaboratively and individually. We must use courage and sincerity as well as eloquence when we communicate. We ought to listen more. All persons should learn to be receptive to new ideas, reflective on those ideas, critical of them when necessary, and expressive of their own contributions.

Every human discovers in his or her own way. Everyone is capable of understanding and meeting his or her full potential. It is more important to teach a student how to learn than what to learn. Inspiration, dedication, and joy are the keys to success.

Learning is a lifelong process. Good teachers are good learners. They model the attributes they wish their students to achieve. Good teachers care about their students and their community. Good teachers plan rich and exciting experiences to instruct their students. Good teachers embrace cultural and learning diversities. Good teachers have high expectations for all students. Good teachers are just and even handed. Good teachers look for ways to praise. Good teachers provide a safe environment for all to make mistakes. Good teachers acknowledge their humanness, take time to play, and love to laugh.

The very wise Mahatma Gandhi said, “Be the change you want to see in the world.”  This, in short, is why I teach and what I wish to accomplish.

I try to teach students according to their intelligence. There are many different kinds of intelligence and we all have a capacity to develop all of them. To learn more about this click on these links:

Another thing I strive to help the students learn is how to develop the Habits of Mind. These Habits will help them learn and be successful whatever they decide to do in life.  Please check out these links to learn more:
